Meet actors from The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie at holiday events in Alabama

TV viewers who love “The Waltons” and “Little House on the Prairie” have an extra reason to visit the North Alabama Christmas Market this year.

Cast members from the Emmy-winning series, which were hugely popular in the 1970’s and early ’80’s, will be featured at the market, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, December 3-4 in Rogersville. The market takes place at The Cotton Gin at Roberson Farms, 6810 County Road 91, a location typically used for weddings and other events.

Actors will sign autographs, take photos with fans and sell CDs, books and collectibles at the market, organizers said.

Visitors to the market can expect the following actors from “The Waltons”: Eric Scott (Ben Walton), Mary Beth McDonough (Erin Walton), Leslie Winston (Cindy Walton) and Reen Bula (Marcia Woolery).

The actors of “Little House” who will appear are Dean Bulter (Almanzo Wilder), Charlotte Stewart (Miss Beadle), Patrick Labyorteaux (Andy Garvey), Wendi Lou Lee (Baby Grace Ingalls) and Pamela Roylance (Sarah Carter).

Admission to the market is $10 and is free for children 12 and under. Opening hours are Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Saturday early bird tickets priced at $20, available through Eventbrite, guarantee entry to the market at 8:30am, 90 minutes before others arrive.

Also, Eric Scott and Leslie Winston of The Waltons will attend a dinner at Fuqua’s Southern Soul Food, 16125 US 72 in Rogersville at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $65 through Eventbrite. The dinner is set to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Homecoming: A Christmas Story, a 1971 TV movie that inspired the TV series The Waltons.

Cast members of “The Waltons” will also attend a breakfast at Joe Wheeler State Park, 4403 McLean Drive in Rogersville at 7:30 a.m. Sunday. Tickets are $22 for adults, $18 for children under 10, $100 VIP via Eventbrite. (VIP tickets include seating at a table with the cast, according to the Eventbrite listing.)

Aside from celebrity appearances, the North Alabama Christmas Market features food, music, and vendors selling artwork, crafts, antiques, gifts, jewelry, clothing, and more. The location of the market in North Alabama is near Joe Wheeler State Park and about 25 miles east of Florence.
