Alabama has 11 games on its 2022 regular-season schedule, and the 8th-ranked team in the nation has a 9-2 record after a 34-0 win over Austin Peay in its last game of the regular season.

MORE NOTICEABLE STATISTICS
– Quarterback Bryce Young threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns while completing 18 of 24 passes in the win over Austin Peay. He has now thrown at least one touchdown in every game he’s started (25) and has the longest streak of games at UA with a touchdown pass, past Tua Tagovailoa (24). Young ranks in the top five SEC quarterbacks in a number of categories, including pass attempts per game (32.9, 2nd), passing touchdowns (3rd), passer rating (153.48, 3rd), passing yards (4th). .) and passing yards per game (266.4, 4th).
– Jahmyr Gibbs didn’t play against the Governors because of an ankle injury, but the junior running back is still seventh in the SEC in rushing yards per game (77.4) and eighth in rushing yards (774). He’s also fifth in yards per rush attempt (6.5), but fellow running back Jase McClellan isn’t far behind in seventh (6.12). McClellan has rushed for 240 yards and two points on 36 carries in the last two games while Gibbs has been dealing with a nagging ankle injury.
From an all-purpose perspective, Gibbs ranks fourth among players in the SEC with 1,312 yards and all-purpose yards per game (131.2). His 167 total games also rank seventh in the conference.
— Gibbs remains the team’s leader in receptions with 40 after 11 games, but two receivers close the gap. After his 7-catch performance against Austin Peay, Jermaine Burton is now second with 34 catches while Ja’Corey Brooks has 33. Brooks and Burton both have six touchdown receptions in the season ranked sixth in the SEC. Traeshon Holden’s five are tied for eighth place. Brooks’ 16.58 yards per reception is also eighth in the conference.
— The Alabama defense broke up four more passes, giving her 53 on the season — or the most in the SEC. Cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry leads the team and ranks second in the league with 12 pass breakups, while cornerback Terrion Arnold ranks seventh with eight PBUs. No sacks were recorded by the Crimson Tide on Saturday, but linebacker Will Anderson is still second in the SEC at eight. He leads the conference with 14 tackles for loss, and defenseman Brian Branch is in ninth place with nine. Safety DeMarcco Hellams has the sixth-most tackles in the SEC with 89, while linebacker Henry To’o To’o is eighth (81).
— With two interceptions by McKinstry and Branch, Alabama no longer ranks last in the SEC in that category. The Tide ranks 12th with Auburn with five picks each. Texas A&M has the fewest interceptions at four. UA made a point of forcing more turnover and had three in Week 12, but offense also turned the ball over three times to keep the tide turnover margin at -5. The only SEC teams with worse revenue margins entering the final week of the 2022 regular season are South Carolina (-6, 13th) and the Tigers (-8, 14th).
“We will continue to focus on making turnovers, but we also have to emphasize ball security,” said head coach Nick Saban. “We also had three turnovers — one on special teams, one interception, one fumble. The sales ratio is so important so it was good to get the sales today.
“I was looking forward to the defenders. I think hopefully that can be contagious for us and we can keep doing that. But we also have to pay a lot of attention to ball security on the other side.”
– Austin Peay was 0-2 in conversions in fourth last weekend, which marked the 20th and 21st times an opposing team had finished fourth against Alabama. The Tide defense has given up just six conversions for a 28.57 percentage, which ranks first in the SEC and fifth nationally. No team was better than 50 percent in fourth place against UA. Meanwhile, the offense was 3-for-3, improving his percentage to 60 (9-for-15, 4th in SEC).
– Platzkicker Will Reichard scored two more field goals and was perfect again with his extra points (4 out of 4) in the penultimate regular season contest. Since missing a 50-yard attempt against Tennessee on Oct. 15, Reichard has logged his last 12 kicks and ranks third among SEC kickers with up to 84 percent on field goal attempts, by an average of one kick try per game. The senior is now tied for the conference lead with 51 points, all of which are brands, and currently has the most points in the league with 114 and is tied for third place nationally.
