OK MATT, THANK YOU SO MUCH ROBIN AND GEORGE. NOW TO THE DANGER OF A NATIONWIDE RAILWAY STRIKE. UNIONS WILL PUBLISH THE RESULTS OF A VOTE ON A NEW CONTRACT. A THUMBS DOWN COULD LEAD TO A WALKOUT THAT COULD HAVE SERIOUS ECONOMIC IMPACT. OUR TRANSPORT CORRESPONDENT SHIBANI TELLS IS FOLLOWING THE LATEST FOR US. GOOD MORNING. Hello Robin. GOOD MORNING. TODAY IS A BIG DAY WHERE WE WILL SEE IF RAILWAY WORKERS ARE GETTING CLOSER TO A STRIKE JUST AS WE BEGIN THE HOLIDAYS. NOW WE TALK AGAIN ABOUT TWO OF THE BIGGEST UNION REPRESENTATIVES, ENGINEERS AND MANAGERS. AND YOU WILL DISCOVER TODAY, WHETHER MEMBERS ACCEPTED OR REJECTED A NEW PAY AGREEMENT FRAMED BY THE WHITE HOUSE. NOW WORKERS SAY IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT MONEY BUT ALSO ABOUT WORKING CONDITIONS. AND HERE’S WHY IT’S ALL IMPORTANT. THIS COULD AFFECT TRANSPORTATION OF AGRICULTURAL ENERGY PRODUCTS WHICH COULD DRAMATICALLY AFFECT SO MANY INDUSTRIES IN THIS COUNTRY. SUPPLY CHAINS COULD BE CLOSED, AT POTENTIALLY COST THE ECONOMY BILLIONS OF DOLLARS A DAY. NOW SOME UNIONS HAVE ALREADY ACCEPTED A NEW DEAL, SOME NOT. AND IF THEY DON’T REACH A NEW DEAL SOON, WE COULD SEE A STRIKE LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AWAY BY DECEMBER 4TH. ROBIN, IT’S A BIG DEAL. IT’S A HUGE STATE. OK JOE, THANK YOU AS ALWAYS, TJ. All right, Robin. TO THE ALERT
Video: Cold day with calm weather in New Hampshire
Strong winds continue to start the week with a gradual warming trend… and great holiday travel weather. The shortened work week starts cold and bright with sunshine and highs in the 30s. It’s getting fresh again…although the gusts won’t be quite as strong, they will continue to give the air that extra bite. An increase in cloud late in the day will result in some snow showers in the mountains later at night . The lows will be in the 20’s. We’re getting a slight rise in temperature for Tuesday and Wednesday as daily high temperatures return to the 40’s. A few thunderstorms or snow showers in the north cannot be ruled out late Wednesday. Otherwise the weather is looking good for holiday trips! Thanksgiving Day is looking dry before a potential week-end system could bring rain or a wintry mix on Friday and Saturday. Stay tuned for more details on this as we get closer.
