Manchester Ward 6 recount delayed

GIVE US A CLOSER LOOK AT HOW POSTPAYMENTS WORK. THIS WEEK’S RECOUNTS ARE ALL TAKING PLACE IN THE STATE ARCHIVES HERE IN CONCORD. WE SHOW YOU HOW THIS OPEN AND TRANSPARENT PROCESS WORKS. HERE IN THE ARCHIVE THE VOICES OF ELECTION NIGHT ARE LOCKED. ALREADY THE TEAM OF FOREIGN SECRETARY BRINGS OUT A DEMOCRAT AND A REPUBLICAN AT THE VOLUNTARY COSTS, EVERYONE PERFORMS A HAND TABULATION. AND THERE ARE MANY EYEBALLS AND REPUBLICANS ON YOUR WORK. THE COUNTERS PLACE EACH VOTING SWITCH UNDER THE CAMERA AND VOTING CHALLENGERS WHO ARE AND OBSERVERS BEHIND THEM CHECKING THE BOLLOTS. NOW THE LARGE MAJORITY OF VOICES LOOK VERY SIMILAR. YOU HAVE A LOT OF PEOPLE VOTING STRAIGHT TICKET, EITHER PARTY OR OTHERS HAVE SHARE THEIR TICKETS. WHAT CHALLENGERS AND OBSERVERS ARE LOOKING FOR ARE UNIQUE VOICES. SOMETIMES PEOPLE TICK SOME CANDIDATES AND THEN FILL IN THE BUBBLE FOR OTHERS. OR IN ONE CASE THIS WEEK WAS A VOTER WHO USED A PEN AND PUT THE PEN IN THE BUBBLE. FOR ONE CANDIDATE AND THEN FILLED THE BUBBLE FOR THE OTHER. IN EACH CASE, THE FOREIGN SECRETARY MAKES A SPECIFIC REQUEST REGARDING THE VOTER’S INTENT. THESE DECISIONS MAY BE APPEAL TO THE BALLOT LAW COMMISSION. SO THERE IS ANOTHER LAYER OF OVERSIGHT. BUT THE SUMMARY IS THAT THE COUNTING OF THE VOTES AND THE EXAMINATION OF THE VOTES WILL BE DONE IN THE OPEN, AMONG MANY VIEWERS. AND ANYONE INTERESTED IN WATCHING THIS PROCESS IS WELCOME

The race recount at New Hampshire House was suspended during the trial; 5 others scheduled Monday

Recounts continue at Concord earlier in the week as the balance of power remains in question at the New Hampshire House but a race is undecided. The recount for a Manchester Ward 6 seat is being postponed by Secretary of State David Scanlan to allow trials between the state and the New Hampshire Democratic Party. The NHDP claims the recount has been completed and a winner announced, so it cannot be revisited, but Scanlan said the evidence suggests it’s possible not all the ballots were counted in the recount, so the process should continue. There are still five reported on Monday’s schedule: a two-city and Laconia District 2 Belknap County seat won by a Republican candidate by 20 votes; a four-city seat in Hillsborough County won by a Democratic candidate by 10 votes; a seat in Berlin won by a Democratic candidate by 55 votes; a seat in Allenstown in which one Republican ousted another Republican by 16 votes; and a Hollis seat, won by a Democratic candidate by 131 votes.
